Who We Are
We bring almost two decades of hands-on experience to supporting Northern Ireland businesses. We set up phone systems, manage IT, install Wi-Fi and CCTV, run data cabling, and keep everything running. When something goes wrong, you speak to the person who set it up. Not a helpdesk overseas. Not a different contractor every time.
We are based in the Greater Belfast and Lisburn area and work onsite across all of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Remote IT, VoIP, and firewall support is also available across England, Scotland and Wales where suitable.
What We Actually Do Day to Day
Most of our work falls into a few categories:
- Managed IT support contracts - we monitor your network, patch your systems, manage user accounts, handle the broadband provider when they try to blame someone else, and deal with problems before you notice them
- Phone system setup and support - cloud VoIP for offices and remote workers. We configure call routing, train staff, port numbers, and stay involved after go-live
- Business Wi-Fi installation - proper site surveys, access point deployment led by an Omada Certified Network Administrator, Cat6 cabling, VLAN segmentation, guest portals
- CCTV installation - IP cameras with network isolation, remote viewing, and proper NVR placement. Businesses, farms, and construction sites.
- Data cabling - Cat6 structured cabling for offices, warehouses, and new builds. Patch panels, cabinets, testing, documentation.
- Threat prevention - DNS filtering, firewall review, endpoint hardening, and ongoing monitoring. Available remotely across Ireland.
What We Will Not Do
Being honest about scope builds trust:
- We will not pretend to cover the whole UK with onsite engineers. Our onsite work is Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland; England, Scotland and Wales are supported remotely.
- We will not sell you equipment you do not need to hit a sales target.
- We will not disappear after the installation and wait for you to call with a problem.
- We will not recommend something we have not deployed and tested ourselves.
What Almost Two Decades Actually Means
It means we have seen businesses move from ISDN to SIP to cloud VoIP. We have seen network security go from "a firewall and antivirus" to layered DNS filtering, SIEM, and endpoint detection. We have seen Wi-Fi go from a single access point in the corridor to properly designed coverage with VLANs and cloud management.
Almost two decades of hands-on experience means we know what breaks, what ages badly, what vendors to avoid, and what a realistic deployment timeline looks like. It means we have made enough mistakes to know how to prevent them for you.
Businesses We Work With
Small offices, solicitors, accountants, estate agents, clinics, shops, warehouses, farms, construction firms, care homes, and hospitality venues across Northern Ireland. We primarily work with growing organisations of roughly 10–250 users and devices, while smaller and larger requirements are assessed based on fit.
Certifications and standards
- Kieran Bourquin - Omada Certified Network Administrator (OCNA) in Wireless and Routing & Switching - network and Wi-Fi projects are led by Kieran. Held personally, not a company certification.
- Hosted on ISO 27001 certified supplier platforms - the hosting platforms operate in line with ISO 27001 standards. The certification belongs to those suppliers, not to Drakos Systems.
- Data protection - data protection and security requirements are considered as part of the service design, in line with UK GDPR.
